• Hi, ~I am very new at all of this, so there maybe something quite simple that is wrong, but I cannot login into my WP account.
In July, I had my password reset and everything was fine.
Today when I went to login, I could have sworn I was using the correct username and password, but the login kept stating that I had either the wrong username or password. I know for sure that my username is correct… and thought maybe I have forgotten my new password. So, I wanted to have the password reset again and when I typed in my username to have a link sent to me via email, it says that there is no such username registered… this is simply not true, the user name appears on my website and also was in the last email sent to me when I had my password reset in July.
It will however, send me a link to my email address with a different username linked to an account I no longer use. If this was a problem, than why did everything work okay in July?
Anyway, sorry to babble, but I’m at a loss…
    this is my website:

Can someone please help me with this?
I can’t seem to login in to my other site either and I am pulling my hair out…

Go to your hosted account and check the database table users. You can change your email there.

But I don’t think it has anything to do with my email. I think it has everything to do with my username. It is saying that my username doesn’t exist and it will only allow me to reset my password with an old username linked to an inactive (never even set up) WP account. I went ahead and logged into the old WP account and changed the email address linked to it to see if that would help, but it didn’t. It is still telling me my username doesn’t exist, but now also tells me that my email address doesn’t exist, because I had it changed with the old account. It’s like the admin panel doesn’t exist anymore for thefoodvoyager.com

Go to the database and check the user name, email, etc.

[edit] Sorry wrong message. Too many screens open!
The post above about going to the database is correct.

    Hi FVJulie,

You can change your wp-admin password from database. If you have access to the phpmyadmin then follow the steps.

    1. Log into your phpmyadmin from your cPanel or any other hosting panel.
    2. Click on the database from left hand side navigation.
    3. Browse to wp_users table
    4. You’ll get the list of users. Select the user you want to edit and click on pen symbol to edit that user.
    5. Now, for the field user_pass select the function as MD5 and type in your new password in value field in same row.
    6. Click on go. Your password is now reset.
7 You can follow the same step to change the username except the applying MD5 function. MD5 is meant for hashing passwords.

    Hope this will help!! ??
