This is a two-part question, so bear with me a second while I explain.

Back when I moved from a .blogspot.com address to my own domain name, I was still using Blogger. I decided to move to WP, and once I did, I was having all sorts of problems getting my domain to work right in WP. Long story short, my domain should be https://www.niceguysfinishthird.com but is actually https://www.niceguysfinishthird.com/index.php – the name without the /index.php still reflects my old Blogger content. I’ve lived with this for a year now, no big thing, but I’d like to know how to change it so that WP publishes to https://www.niceguysfinishthird.com if possible.

When I was tweaking the 1.5 upgrade, I noticed that any time I’d try to change anything on the Options section of the dashboard, I change an option (even something benign, like “size of the writing box”), and when I click “update options”, I get the following error:

    Not Found
The requested URL /wp-admin/updated=true was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

The paranoid in me thinks these two things may be related, but in reality I have no idea. If anyone knows how to solve either or both of these problems, please let me know – your help is greatly appreciated!
