Login/Logout–What happens within WP CMS

  • What happens when one logs in/out of a web site supported by WordPress? Is there anything within the wordpress support code that is changed when one logs in/out? To add “Logout” to the menu can one simply copy the URL of the log out page and make it a menu item? It takes you to the “sign in” screen, but I’m not sure if something may be “left undone” within the wordpress support that might corrupt wordpress.
