• Attempts to write posts using Markdown with an external blog editor is a practice in frustration.

    Email style quoting (preceding lines with “>”) can’t be done because “>” gets entified into “>”.

    Ok, backticks don’t help showing the entity result.

    “>” becomes “& gt ;”.

    Weird, thought it did.

    Edit: Hmm, seems to work for things other than gt/lt: &

    Oddly enough, it seems to work for WordPress. Unfortunately, that doesn’t help me.

    Oh, you’re talking about writing via a 3rd party app? Those aren’t supported here you know. ??

    If it works in WP and not this other proggy, then I think it’s safe to assume it’s a problem on their end.

    I don’t think it is. It previously worked in 1.5.x.

    Further, this errant behavior is present when using two completely separate blog clients (MarsEdit and w.bloggar, on Mac and Windows respectively).

    The new XML-RPC library is the root of the problem.
