[Plugin: Taxonomy Picker] using prepack taxonomies with auto email posting

Currently, I use posterous to auto post via email to wordpress (that is I send an email to posterous and it then auto posts to wordpress). The advantage for me of doing it this way is that I can can also automatically, via the email, assign categories to each post by putting category labels in the subject line.

I wanted to use taxonomy picker for a number of reasons, but find that when I create custom taxonomies using your “prepack,” the email auto posts via posterous with subject category labels do not post to these custom taxonomies/categories.

Obviously when the email posts via posterous, only the “standard” (for lack of a better word) categories are recognized.

My question then is would it be possible to change some aspect of the prepack/custom taxonomies coding so that they also would be recognized as “standard” categories, at least in terms of the auto posting function that I am curently using?
