[Plugin: PHP Code Widget] Not working. The "plus" sign is broken.

The widget is not allowing me to use the “plus” sign. For example, I cannot use “$myVariable++”, nor can I use “$myVariable = $myVariable + 1”. When I click on the “Save” button, the widget strips away all of my “plus” signs.
