can't install wordpress & connect to remote mysql database from localhost xampp

  • Hi ,

    I am trying to install WordPress in localhost using XAMPP server and connect the database from my website or say connect the Mysql database from public ip

    I did such but failed:

    on the CPanel of my domain Remote Database Access Hosts = %

    Database Name db123
    User Name user123
    Password pass123
    Database Host https://www.ratan.com.np
    Table Prefix wp_

    Please help,

  • Did you really put https:// in front of the name of the database host? If so, remove that and try again. Databases are not webservers ??

    If thats not the issue can you login to that database server from the command line on your localhost on which you are developing using the mysql utility.

    Also, I hope those are not your real usernames and passwords for that database… if they are you had better change them RIGHT AWAY!
