Tooltip in sidebar

  • Hi. I am working on a site where my client wants to have an image, more like a button, in his sidebar (I am using a Text Widget for the png file), but when clicked, rather than go to a separate page, it stays on the current page, but pulls down some text that has links in them. I figured I could use a tooltip for this, but Tippy only seems to work on posts or pages. I want to have it work on the sidebar. Is there a way to do this? Are there any plugins that work this way? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

    In re-reading my original post, I should have said “when you hover over the image” rather than click on the image. When you hover over the image, he wants to have some text (additional wording) that has links to pdf files. I’ve seen tooltips used that allows for this, but not in the sidebar (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5U5yxw4taXw).
    Does that make sense?
