I’m brand new to WP but have been unable to locate this exact topic. I am using the FastTrack theme downloaded from https://www.alexking.org and have been able to adjust most things I wanted. However, I cannot locate the exact place to edit my sidebar. I would like to be able to edit the actual “META” links and be able to add topic headings in the sidebar area. Current existing topic headings are (RSS Feeds, META, etc.) found at https://www.thestockbandit.net. I don’t know where to go to make these changes. I have limited CSS experience, but am unclear whether code needs to be added to my sidebar.php file or my style.css file.

Thank you for any help you may provide!

  • If you want to edit/change the code itself – edit the sidebar.php.
If you want just to change the look – go to the style.css.
If you don’t know what to edit in the stylesheet, this is what I say always to new users: when looking at your blog, right click ans select View source; and from there you can figure out what tags, divs IDs, classes etc. are around the pieces you want to change. Find them in your stylesheet and modify them a you want.
