• Hi caroline,
I love your Hey cookie theme and I’m thinking that it could be great for our website, but i just have a couple of questions beofre i load it up and find it isn’t goign to work! (am a complete noob, so please excuse if they’re dumb questions!)

    – Can i use a logo graphic instead of the website name on the top black banner?
    – Can i change the font used (with css i’m assuming???)
    – Can i set up the images (especially the grid on the homepage and the mini grids) to link back to PAGES rather than posts? Would i do this with a child theme?

    Thanks in anticipation ??

Hi! I’d advise using a child theme for any changes so they don’t get overwritten by future theme updates.

    1) You can, using either CSS or HTML (or both) to add an image to header.php. One way to do so is addressed in this thread.

    2) Yes, you can also do this with CSS.

    3) It’s possible, but advanced if you’re not familiar with PHP code/WordPress functions. It involves registering support for featured images in pages and modifying the loop to pull pages instead of posts. Those links should get you started.

    Thanks!
The first two sound like I could manage them, the last one, well, i’m up for a challenge but i might have to look into those links and research how much of a mind-boggling challenge thats likely to be!
If I do manage to alter it to pull the images from pages not posts, then am i able to select which ones get pulled and where? or are they randomly allocated?

That depends on how you alter the loop–pull only main pages, only children of a certain page, exclude certain pages by ID, etc. There are lots of options depending on what you’re trying to do. It will likely make more sense once you’ve had a chance to look at the documentation.
