Navigation Menus Broken

  • I would love some technical help with a menu issue I’m having. While trying to delete a new page I created from my navigation menu today, all of my custom menus on the navigation bar were erased.

    This stinks, but I thought it would be easy enough to put them back again. When I try to add a new category or page to the menu, however, I simply get a PENDING message.

    I have not updated to the current version of WordPress yet (though I need to). There were some known issues with the new version of WordPress and the version of Standard Theme I’m using, so I was waiting until I had time to troubleshoot any issues that might arise from the update. Since everything was working beautifully, I’ve put this off. (I don’t know if the version is relevant or not).

  • I am currently having the same problem with two of my wordpress sites, tried a number of things with table checks in mySQL, though I am not super tech savvy on this end I was able to do this but no problems showed in the reports. This is occuring for me using two different themes, I have tried deactivating plugins, reinstalling wordpress on one of the sites, switching themes. It started with one site which I just set up today ( https://www.lorenzcreative.com)- was ok then all of a sudden new menu items were appearing as pending and were deleted as soon as I tried to save them. I went to one of my other sites (www.leavethemountain.com) and tried to add a new menu item there to test, the new menu item showed as pending and when I hit “save” it erased ALL of my other menu items except Home (all of which have been there and doing fine for months).
    I cant seem to find that many threads on this that offer any kind of resolution, the ones i have I have tried and not resolved anything. I would appreciate ANY help on this, as this is occuring for me on multiple sites and causing a huge problem with functionality.

    The exact same thing happened to me just moments ago. I ended up calling my host and having them reset to a restore point, but I lost some of the work I did today in the process. There must be something going on with wordpress’s servers, right?

    I am having the same problem and I too am technically challenged. I also tried deactivating all my plugins and nothing has worked.

    Thats what I was thinking, that it may be something on their end, which is when I did my search for “wordpress navigation pending” but made my search criteria for just the past 24 hours and found this post in the forums. However it doesnt seem like anyone else has posted about it yet? This just happened to me about 2 hours ago…

    same issue! i deleted a few menu items, my whole menu was erased, and now when i try to re-add pages to the menu it says pending an never adds in the new pages

    Try activating another theme and create menu items. Then go back to your previous theme.

    YES! Thanks for the tip…it worked for me too. slorenz27, try the twenty eleven theme, make a new menu and then reactivate your regular theme. Aztuk you saved my life.

    I tried that with the themes when I started troubleshooting, but that didnt work for me either. However, about 5 minutes ago I tried adding menu items again in my current themes and it worked! So perhaps this was an issue with wordpress and now they have fixed it?

    I have a lot of customizations in my current theme. Am I going to lose this if I uninstall the theme and reinstall?

    Ahh. It’s working for me now too. Thank goodness. Thanks everyone for the troubleshooting assistance!

    I tried changing the theme and didn’t work… any other ideas?
