Uploading images in the wrong orientation

  • Since the upgrade, each time I upload an image (the original orientation of the images are portrait style), when the image is inserted into my post, the orientation is somehow changed to the landscape orientation.

    I have tried editing the image within the image editor. I changed the image from landscape to orientation, and saved…to no avail.

    I also tried re-installing the plug-in, to no avail.

    Looking at the board, I seem to be the only one having this issue. Would like any feedback.

  • Outdated plugins or theme can cause this problem.
    You may try:
    1. Deactivate all the plugins and activate them one by one so that you can know if the plugins cause the problem. As a priority, you may first try plugins functioning for image manipulation.
    2. Check the last update date of the plugins and compatibility with WP 3.4.1
    3. Remove inactive plugins
    If the above do not solve the problem, you will have to revert to Twenty Eleven theme and see if the problem persists. This can also show you if the problem is caused by the plugin.

    I’ve been deactivating and reactivating the plugins, to no avail; however, I don’t have any plugins for image manipulation. I specifically use the built in image uploader.
    Is there a specific reason to revert to the Twenty Eleven theme?

    Yes. By reverting to Twenty Eleven, you can know if your Theme is having problems or incompatibility with WP.

    You are using a theme named Pretty Theme, which was last updated on 2010-04-09. A lot of changes in WP and plugins have taken place since it was last updated. So, I feel that the theme can be the cause of your problems.

    Alrighty!

    So I switched to a new theme, tried to upload a picture, with the exact same image orientation issues.
