• I’m new to wordpress and still getting my head round it all.

I would like to create a homepage which showcases featured content so my site looks like a website eg. with text in boxes, live twitter feed, social network buttons etc. Is this something to do with showcase/ sticky posts etc? I have a blog area within menu

Also I would like to set the home page so it does not have the ‘endless scroll’ like blogs have. I’m confused with how to get this going…

I would also like to create a footer area on the home page which contains – privacy, contact and site map links like most professional websites have

Also how do I get the site map picked up by search engines for natural SEO)

    I’m using the latest twenty eleven … I know there’s a lot here to digest… Hope I’m making sense…

Any help anyone could give would be great.

  • If you want social networking buttons there are many plugins for that.

Under settings/reading, you can set the number of posts to display and have all which exceed that number be paged.

the easiest way is with footer widgets, either html (text widget) or a links widget.

    Not so sure about SEO.
