When I use the “old” non-iframe youtube embed code the plugin works beautifully….thanks! The problem is, the site I’m using it on will be turned over to my client soon and everything needs to be as simple as possible.

Is it possible to get the plugin to work with the “new” style youtube iframe embed code? When I use it now, a thumbnail is not found when the post is published. If I click “search again” I get the following error:

Error retrieving a thumbnail from the URL https://img.youtube.com/vi/cdrGF0f7z98/0.jpg
Libcurl error 0: Failed to connect to 2001:4860:4007:801::1007: Network is unreachable. If opening that URL in your web browser shows an image, the problem may be related to your web server and might be something your server administrator can solve.

I can click the link and view the thumbnail image, but it will never appear as the video thumbnail or featured image. I contacted tech support for my host (bluehost.com), and their reply was they don’t know why the error is occuring, contact the plugin creator…..so here I am!

Website is: https://www.straightlineperformance.com using Magzimus theme.

The plugin obviously is finding the thumbnails, but it looks like this is a bug related to IPv6. If you’re on PHP 5.3 or above, you can give this version a shot to see if it fixes the issue.

Also please sign up for the beta so I can make sure this issue is fixed when 2.0 comes out.

I can confirm that replacing with the above code has resolved the issue with the IPv6 issue. Awesome! I got worried for a minute there.

    Thanks.

Hi people, I just used the code and now I got the video thumb but it isnt set a featured image, just added to the library.

Looks like I’m running PHP 5.2.17, but I’m using the iframe because YouTube doesn’t give me the old embed code any more for some reason…

When updating the thumbnails it says it cannot find them and a little red x beside title name, and based on GKDantas’ post I checked the media library and there is a blank “image” named after every post, as it it started to create a file, but couldn’t find anything.

    Suggestions?

Oh, I’m using a Genesis 1.8.2 Child Theme (based on Amped) on the site, WP 3.4.1
