  • You have set two pages as your home which are as below:

    https://www.thread.me.uk/
    https://www.thread.me.uk/?page_id=16

As it stands, the second URL is working as your home page and and the root URL shows a 404 error. Go to your dashboard and reset your custom menu correctly.

There is no index.html and you don’t need it. So you don’t find in your cPanel

this is a very common mistake people make. go back and delete ‘all’ of the ‘default posts/pages’ which were auto created when you installed wordpress.

then make a new page and title it ‘home’. go to settings > reading > choose home page and make it a static front page. then go appearance > menu and create a custom menu. make sure you make the menu primary. now add your home page to the nav bar and you should see it when you save refresh everything.

to get rid of ?page_id=16 in your url,, go to permalinks and set to ‘post name’ option
