NextGen slideshow won't work with IE 9

  • Hi all

    I have NextGen 1.9.2 successfully running slideshows on WP 3.3.1, tested with Chrome and Firefox.
    But, it won’t run in IE9! Instead I get the loading circling animation (it goes round and round without loading the pictures).

    I have tried to update ngg.slideshow.min.js, and I’m not using the Flash mode (I want my pics to be available also in IOS and it’s also not really working…).

    I’m afraid of updating the plugin ver. – I read that it can cause more problems…

    Please help!

    Now I see it’s also on IE8!

    What is the cause for the problem?
    Am I the only one facing it?

    Hi,

    Have just checked my own site and it seems to be ok under IE9, however, I’m on wordpress 3.3.2 and the plugin is 1.9.3….even running compatibility mode your page still does not load.

    I wonder if it may be a browser cache issue…..you can check mine here if my page does not load for you then I would look to the cache perhaps. If it does work then upgrading the plugin might be the answer.

    Actually there is a lengthy thread here about this, reading through just the first page someone has found a fix by editing some js code and removing a comma, but the core of that thread is the incompatibility between the plugin and the theme.

    I CAN see the galleries at you website.
    I’ve upgraded to latest plugin version but to no avail with mine…

    Maybe it’s something with the theme itself?
    What else can I check?

    Ok, then it’s not a browser problem….

    I would try 2 things….

    First uninstall the plugin, and check your site via ftp and delete anything left over. Then re install the latest version.

    If that does not resolve the problem go to the link on that long thread and look for 2 posts by iniskr and try his fix….it just might work as it’s an IE script issue.

    Failing all that it could just be the theme is not compatible with the plugin.

    Hi

    I have tried the second option, and when discovered more bugs I gave up.

    Just installed WPPA – WP photo album plus and fell in love – it’s great, easy and working…
