Save Page As a Template

  • Is it possible to save a page as a template file in a child theme? If so, what is the process?

    Note,I don’t want to create a template from ‘scratch’. I want to use a page that I have already created in the twentyeleven theme as a template… similar to how Dreamweaver allows you to save a page as a .dwt (Dreamweaver template file).

    Any pointers/info appreciated! Thank you!
