• I see that numerous people are having problems with 3.4, me included.
How do I roll back to 3.3x, while you resolve the issue(s)???

    The following items won’t work:

    Upload media
    Quick Edit of posts
    Tags

I’m not sure how activating and deactivating plug-ins would affect any of these.

    Mac OS
    PHP 5.x
    News theme on Genesis framework

No they’re not. The number of issues have really been extremely small and 99% of them have been due to bad plugins, themes or updates. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

I can’t switch to twenty eleven – I have an advanced theme and will lose all my widgets

No you won’t. Not unless you’re using a really badly coded theme – and none of the Genesis themes are badly coded.

It actually is a genesis issue, until their version 1.9 is released.

Please, please tell me how to go back to 3.3x until they put the fix together.

There are too many functions that are not working properly.
My backup (my bad) is from 5/26/12

I think the best thing for you to is post in the Studiopress forums. Right now, I’m not aware of any serious issues within the Genesis framework that should stop you upgrading WordPress.

that i’m afraid is incorrect. From the genesis forums

“Yeah, there are a couple of minor issues that crop up. Generally these only show up when using debug mode. In all cases the errors do not stop the site from working. Lets start with the scariest looking.

    Theme Editor Warnings
There are about half a dozen warnings that can be thrown on the theme editor page. These errors only present in single site installs. I have not been able to replicate on multisite installs in any way. Typically these errors only show when debug mode is active, but a few users have reported that they see the errors when debug is not active.”

Look for right now, all I want to do is roll back to 3.3x. Is that too much to ask for?

I’m sure in short order, Genesis will have a fix, but right now, I feel like I can’t do anything on the site.

that i’m afraid is incorrect. From the genesis forums

Uh? The comment from Studiopress is pretty much what I said. There are no serious issues with Genesis

It depends on your definition of serious. I cannot upload media, use quick edit, add tags or edit my widget content. To me that serious. Maybe not life threatening. But if you;re a content manager, it pretty much like being on a sailboat with no wind.

Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate everything the Word Press community has done for web publishing.

All I want to do is revert back (temporarily) to 3.3x IS THAT ASKING TOO MUCH???

It depends on your definition of serious.

I’ve seen copies of the warnings mentioned. None of them are serious and none of them would cause your current problems. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

And please don’t shout. It doesn’t encourage anyone to help you.

Sorry, just a very frustrating day.
I had 18 plugins. All disabled, I’ve got some functionality back.

I’m not a code jockey, just an editor.

My apologies to the community. thanks for the help and not giving up on me.

Do you have a pre-upgrade database backup?

My question is why should we have to do any of this song and dance. Esmi I know your a mod but get off the high horse and just try and understand the frustration we all have. I can not upload any media. My hosting company did a re-install after I did one. I did the plugin drill and still no image uploads. In the hours since the launch nothing has worked right. I was making post at 5pm pacific time no worries I eat dinner install the new version and for the last 10 hrs have had nothing but issues.
These issues have been poping up at every single webforum that has a wordpress section. All I’ve seen on this site is complaints too. If only 1 maybe two people complain it’s a quirk. When all I have read when just reading your posts is complaints that you are trying to defend.
This was a stinker of an update and they should have held off for a few more weeks until the bugs were fixed. Real people use this software and real companies use it as well and any disruption is serious and should not be dealt with in such a casual sometimes arrogant tone. All any of want to know is whats wrong and how are you going to fix it.

@noelbe: It is impolite and contrary to forum policy to interrupt another poster’s ongoing thread with a question of your own. Please post your own topic.

I really need to know how to roll back too ??
