blogroll: detect page number and evaluate that number?

  • On my blog i’ve got a slider installed on my front/homepage.
    Underneath that there is my standard blogroll.
    If i switch to page 2 (or 3 or 4 …) i want the slider to disappear.

    i think therefore i need a query like
    if(page==1) {show slider div} else {}

    is there any variable like that?
    how can i do this?
