Help Changing Servers while keeping same Domain name but no Database
-
Hey guys,
I have just begun hosting with Hostgator and used the Fantastico One Click installer to download WordPress. However I can’t access the admin area. All I get is this:
Not FoundThe requested URL /wp-admin/ was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache Server at thedyingsunacademy.com Port 80I have a domain name I registered previously with Godaddy because I had someone building the website for me (not in WordPress). The website still exists on the server of the person who was creating my website. I am now unable to contact this person to get any information and my passwords don’t work to login to Cpanel for the old site.
In Godaddy the Name servers DO NOT point to any domains. (at least it says there are no domain names attached.)
I don’t care about any of the data etc from the old website as I will be starting fresh in WordPress. I definately want to keep the same URL and Domain Name.
Can someone please advise me on what I need to do to create a WordPress website with my current Domain Name when I don’t have access to the old server?
Thanks so much ??
Sarah
