  • Latest version is 1.7
    I am guessing there was some caching issue when you visited the homepage. I just checked and it lists 1.7.
    When the 1.7 install fails, what error message do you see.

    That would be a strange caching error because yesterday was the first time I visited then.ly. I do see 1.7 when I visit today.

    When I tried to upgrade from 1.7 to 1.7 Premium I got the same error as Ed got here:

    Unpacking the update…
    Installing the latest version…
    Removing the old version of the plugin…
    Could not remove the old plugin.
    Plugin update failed.

    I’ll try to install 1.7 Premium directly later tonight and see how things look.

    Ah I see, We also have a cacher installed on our end and that could’ve contributed to the problem. I will check to make sure that everything is okay. Thank you for notifying about this.

    About the “Plugin update failed” error. That is a strange error, it means that the files cannot be removed from your server, I suspect a file ownership/permission problem.
    Manual update is:
    1. FTP to your server.
    2. Delete wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar folder
    3. Download the plugin from then.ly
    4. Unpack the archive from then.ly
    5. Upload the unpacked folder via ftp to wp-content/plugins folder.
    6. Login to wp-admin and active the plugin if it is not active.

    Let me know if you need additional help and you can also use our free support located here – help.then.ly

    Thanks!

    I installed 1.7 Premium manually and my site wouldn’t load – just a blank page. I deactivated the plugin and the site loaded just fine. Back to 1.4. I might try 1.5.

    Answer is easy, they wouldn’t made support for the WordPress Version.

    @enso
    When you see a blank page, there is a WP_DEBUG constant in wp-config.php If you change it to true, your site will output what the error is.
    @designskew – what are we doing here if not supporting?

    Already reverted to 1.4. Will try it tomorrow.

    @yani.iliev Sorry for that, I told that straigt forward, but before making the plugin update public, it should be tested with the latest version, isn’t it ?

    OK, I turned on WP_DEBUG. Here you go:

    Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘Ai1ec_File_Not_Found’ with message ‘The specified file ‘event.min.js’ doesn’t exist.’ in /services9/webpages/util/c/h/chicanos.site.aplus.net/rebelssc.com/public/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar 1.7/app/helper/class-ai1ec-view-helper.php:124 Stack trace: #0 /services9/webpages/util/c/h/chicanos.site.aplus.net/rebelssc.com/public/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar 1.7/app/controller/class-ai1ec-events-controller.php(182): Ai1ec_View_Helper->theme_enqueue_script(‘ai1ec-event’, ‘event.min.js’, Array) #1 [internal function]: Ai1ec_Events_Controller->init(”) #2 /services9/webpages/util/c/h/chicanos.site.aplus.net/rebelssc.com/public/wp-includes/plugin.php(405): call_user_func_array(Array, Array) #3 /services9/webpages/util/c/h/chicanos.site.aplus.net/rebelssc.com/public/wp-settings.php(304): do_action(‘init’) #4 /services9/webpages/util/c/h/chicanos.site.aplus.net/rebelssc.com/public/wp-config.php(90): require_once(‘/services9/webp…’) #5 /services9/webpages/util/c/h/chi in /services9/webpages/util/c/h/chicanos.site.aplus.net/rebelssc.com/public/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar 1.7/app/helper/class-ai1ec-view-helper.php on line 124

    @enso
    The solution is to copy themes-ai1ec from plugin’s folder to wp-content/
    When you copy it, your wp-content folder should look like this:

    wp-content/themes-ai1ec
    wp-content/themes
    wp-content/plugins

    Let me know if that fixes it for you.

    OK, that worked. Thanks.

    I made extensive changes to calendar.css and general.css in 1.4 to style AI1EC to match the rest of the website. (Actually I renamed the originals and included them in the new versions that contain my styling changes – sort of like a child theme. I’d do it slightly differently now.) I could make those same changes to the css in the new version on my own but I’d really like to see that tutorial for making an AI1EC child theme to make sure I’m covering all the bases first.

    Thanks!
    I am not sure if the tutorial is available on help.then.ly but I will ask sauril/Mark to check and update this topic.
