Claims of my programmer that WP won't work. . .
-
Hello,
I am writing to this forum because I need some advice. I am trying to build a site for BMW enthusiasts. I have hired a design team and specified that I want to use Word Press as my platform. I have my own Centos LAMP server.
Basically, in mid production, the design team switched from Word Press to a custom CMS system that they designed themselves (or branded as their own). I only discovered this when I selected various plugins from the WP plugin area to be told that they couldn’t use them as the plugins won’t work with their CMS.
When I asked why they aren’t using WP as I specified, they replied that what I want in the site – WP can’t handle. The only thing in my site that is out of the ordinary are three PHP based calculators relating to various aspects of cars: tire size, engine displacement etc. . .
I think these guys are intentionally trying to lock me into using their CMS so that I am forever reliant on their team for support.
Could anyone help me out with an opinion?
Thanks,
Mike
