[Theme: Elegant Grunge] Background not displaying

Just download another copy of the theme and compare the style.css files.

You have a bunch of mark-up errors — the ones that have to do with unclosed or extra tags are likely causing the problems.

Where is the missing background supposed to be — which element?

The CSS files are the same. I compared the new download to my files and there weren’t any differences that I could see. Now I’m not sure what exactly is wrong with my blog.

The background is supposed to have lines on it, but halfway down the blog you’ll see it be entirely white. Also, at the very bottom of the sidebar, the Links widget is not formatted correctly.

It’s due to the errors — as I said earlier — you have a whole bunch of coding errors from line 791 to the end of the page…. Those kinds of tag errors cause major problems.

How do you fix those errors?

The validator results tell you where the “bad” tags are — you have to go through the code in that area and figure out which tags are open or misplaced or whatever.
