[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Yikes! Social plugin footprints showing up in Google SERP
-
I switched from Headspace2 to WordPress SEO for my SEO plugin a couple of weeks ago. A week ago I noticed that in my Google search results for one of the pages, the words “Tweet This Email This” were appearing in the middle of the first sentence. I believe that this was being reflected by the Sharebar plugin.
I then disabled that temporarily and enable the FB Share plugin. I also activated the force rewrite setting for the WordPress SEO titles. Now what I’m getting in the search results is the word “Share” as the beginning of the first sentence.
I really want to be able to use the WP Sharebar without weird words appearing in the SERPS as that probably discourages clickthroughs. Do you have any suggestions about how I can overcome this issue?
I know that I could disable the plugin on certain pages but I have a high number of Facebook Likes on those pages, so I don’t want to lose that social proof. I did not have these problems when I was using Headspace2. I really want to continue using WordPress SEO but am frustrated about these challenges.
