• This morning I had the bad surprise of discovering this awful message on my dearest blog:

Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /usr/www/users/pl1448/escapades/wp-includes/shortcodes.php on line 235

I tried to figure out what were the latest things I did the day before, when working on my brand new theme, Oxygen.

I remembered that I uploaded a new version of my oxygen-fr_FR.mo file, without checking on the website

I deleted all the translations I had made containing [shortcodes] and it was fine again !!

now i should figure out if it’s possible to translate those sentences, and how

    For instance:

    [entry-published] / by [entry-author] / in [entry-terms taxonomy=\”category\”] [entry-edit-link before=\” / \”]

i think i had done it this way:

    [entry-published] / par [entry-author] / dans [entry-terms taxonomy=\”catégorie\”] [entry-edit-link before=\” / \”]

    but, it’s not ok.

so, actually, this problem is solved. or almost, but i thougt it might be useful for others

    cordialement,

    véronique

  • Merci Véronique. ??
I was having the exact same problem with my (french) translation of a theme. In correcting back the “category” and “Tagged” in the .po file, it fixed the issue.
