update core? Blank white screen cannot do anything

  • I am using version 3.3.1 i clicked on automatic update and the url goes to mysite.com/wp-admin/update-core.php

    i get a white screen and nothing happens. I went back and tried to disable plugins … same thing as above.

    What to do?

    Okay step 3 cannot do.

    Cannot deactivate plugins. Get blank white screen and nothing when I click on plugins.

    I think this step is written wrong:

    Step 4

    Delete the old wp-includes and wp-admin directories on your web host (through your FTP or shell access).

    Step 5

    Upload the individual files from the new wp-content folder to your existing wp-content folder, overwriting existing files. Do NOT delete your existing wp-content folder. Do NOT delete any files or folders in your existing wp-content directory (except for the one being overwritten by new files).

    If you delete the directories and upload the new ones there are no files on the server to overwrite.

    Try deactivate via ftp or phpmyadmin
    About step 4 and 5 ….You should remove only wp-admin and wp-includes folder. Next, you should upload via FTP from wp package fresh wp-admin, wp-includes …and upload/overwrite all single files in wp root directory.
