Getting 404 message while previewing post

  • I have written a post, and when I went to preview it, I got a 404 not found message. I tried going into the editor of posts I’ve already made to click ‘preview’ and it tells me I do not have the permissions to view that page.

    Help!

    Oh, and I tried activating my parent theme, and it didn’t help. I am a wordpress beginner, and so I am going to need to be walked through this in babysteps, I think. Thanks!
