Making WordPress my Main Site

You will have to transfer all the WP files to the main root folder.. and then you will have to configure Database for the new locations…
Just like you transfer a wordpress website from one server to another

Isn’t the directory structure still “wordpress” or whatever I name it? I guess what I’m asking is how do I get the “Welcome” page to come up when someone types in https://www.mysite.com?

Yes, you want to show the site which is on mysite.com/wordpress to be appear on mysite.com ???

You dont have to transfer any files. Just log into your hosting account and forward https://www.example.com to https://www.example.com/wordpress (or whatever the URL is now)..

I’ve looked in the WP directory and it uses “index.php” which would work in the root directory. Forwarding is another way to go if I installed it into a subdirectoy under the root.

I guess what I was asking is if WP can install to the root directory where its “index.php” files would reside in the root directory.
