Can′t drag widgets. Can't open Screen Options

  • I have a wp sandbox site and noticed that I couldn’t drag the widgets. I did an upgrade to 3.3.2, still had the same problem. I deleted the entire site and did a fresh installation – new database, no plugins activiated, default template etc. Same problem. Tried it in IE8, FF12 & Chrome18.
    When I click on the Screen Options (to switch on Accessibility Mode as suggested in forums), I can’t open Screen Options and the url is https://www.hudson-01.info/wp-admin/#screen-options-wrap.
    Any ideas anybody?

  • Try adding define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false ); to the bottom of your wp-config.php file (just before the require_once line).

    Hi thanks for the quick response. I was just trying that as you sent the message ??

    It now works but this is just a short term workaround for a problem which hopefully will be sorted out in the next release. I’ve done more than 50 wp installations and never come across this problem before.

    It’s server specific. If you have other, working, WP installs with this host, it might be worth contacting them in case there’s a problem with this particular server.
