Different Comment template

(apologies if this has been covered, didn’t find anything after a search)

I’m using different styles for different categories (i.e. I’ve created a “category-4.php” page just for one category) and I’d like the comment and archive pages for that category to be similar. Should I duplicate the comment_functions.php (to “comments_functions-4php”) and insert a different comments.php (say “comments-4.php”) into the functions and then call this new file in the new function? (Follow me so far)

Or am I making this too difficult?
