  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). Don’t forget the ones in mu-plugins. If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

I did all that – deactivated all the plugins, switched themes without the pluggins and the widgets a while ago, a few times, too, but it didn’t work.

I went into the plugin folder through my host, but I didn’t find the mu-plugins folder.

Mu-plugins is at multi-user sites. Have you tried a different browser?

Also check your java here, https://javatester.org/index.htm

    Please post a url.

I found the plugins within the wp-content folder. There are a few folders and plugins I don’t recognize, though, they might have something to do with the other (9) plugins I’m using.

Yeah, the java software is working fine.

At one time today, I was getting an error from firefox and explorer… something about an “mce”.

Do you know your site is blacklisted?

Yes. I’m working on the issue. Which I think it is part of the problem. I have someone looking into finding the scripts that are causing the “malware” flag(s).

We used to run everything on wordpress 2.9, until we started having hacker issues. Ran the site through google and another site. Google recommended finging a few scripts and deleting them – we are doing that now. The other site recommended updating wordpress 2.9 to 3.3. We didn’t want to do this because our theme had a nice animation, but it would not work in wordpress 3.3. Thus, it is that we are now running the blog through wordpress 3.3, lost the animation, and the ability to manipulate/create posts within wordpress, and apparently still have the error/malware to deal with.

Did you switch to the default theme to eliminate the older theme you have?

    Yes
