admin login only showing a blank page

there are a lot of posts about not being able to log in to admin that shows an error message. but when i try to log in, i only get a blank page. it doesnt load, it doesnt show an error message… nothing. i cleared my cookies and cache, i’m currently using firefox and re-installed that, I tried using internet explorer 8 instead of firefox and that doesnt work. i reset my password, didn’t work. the only thing i could find was that perhaps the newest wordpress version may not support my theme, but how do i log in to change the theme to see if that’s the problem? what other options do i have to figure out my login problem?
