Thumbnail Slideshow with Enlarge?

I’m looking for a plug-in (if possible, if not, I’m comfortable with implementing a javascript or php code)that will allow me to have a slideshow of thumbnails that slides across the screen, and then can be enlarged within the slideshow when you click on the image. (I want the enlarged image to stay within the filmstrip or hover above it Fancybox style, rather than enlarge to open above or below the thumbnails.) I want the thumbnails to be the main slideshow, not a larger image above or below the slideshow. Does something like this exist? I’ve been looking for days and can’t find even close to what I’m looking for.
