[Plugin: Authors Widget] Inserting HTML into widget title

Hi, my website design requires that I place an icon next to each widget title (placed in the widget title box). In the past, I’ve been able to edit my widgets and remove the PHP code that escapes the HTML. I’m having trouble finding that in this plugin. I’ve removed the strip_tags() in one place relating to the title (see code below), but still having my HTML code escaped when I execute it. What am I missing? Thanks!
