• I don’t know if this is just a coincidence but I’ve had nothing but trouble since updating to the latest version

    ceconn.com

    I am so upset I could cry. I’ve been hacked. This happened this morning. How could this happen? I’ve been to my ISP but they’ve done everything they could from their end. Still, look at it. It’s a mess. Furthermore, it’s affecting all my sites.

    Won’t somebody help me?

    I can’t even get to my admin pages. Nothing.

  • Maybe the theme or a plugin isn’t compatible. Can you get in via ftp? If so, then you may be able to switch to the default theme and / or disable all plugins.

    PS Here’s how to disable plugins

    I disabled the plugins but it didn’t make any difference.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    I do keep updating everything that needs updating but none of that matters. My sites are all a mess. The themes are not showing up.

    Please see the steps I posted above.

    OK, I uploaded a fresh copy of Admin and Includes. Didn’t make any difference. Besides, I have a hard time believing that plugins could affect all my sites. Here are some:

    canwetalk.ceconn.com
    food911.ceconn.com
    countrygarden.ceconn.com
    tapc.ca

    And so on.

    Now try the rest of the steps I suggested. This is the start of Troubleshooting 101.

    Do you have any cache plugin or a minify plug in deactivate theme

    There seems to be some hope. At least there is an error message. When I typed in ceconn.com/wp-admin, I got this error:
    W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/cecon46/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.

    What should I do now?

    FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) & delete the wp-content/advanced-cache.php file.

    One more thing are you using wordpress from directory if so check if index.php file in root has your folder name in line 17

    Ah man, now it wants me to delete object-cache.php. There was another one before and I deleted it.

    govpatel, “wordpress from directory”. I’m not sure I understand.

    The index.php file reads: <?php

    /**
     * Front to the WordPress application. This file doesn't do anything, but loads
     * wp-blog-header.php which does and tells WordPress to load the theme.
     *
     * @package WordPress
     */

    /**
     * Tells WordPress to load the WordPress theme and output it.
     *
     * @var bool
     */
    define('WP_USE_THEMES', true);

    /** Loads the WordPress Environment and Template */
    require('./wp-blog-header.php');
    ?>

    OK, you lost me. I am by no means a techie.
