Can't figure out how to "space" my social icons

  • Hello,

    I was told to use this code for my style.css. I want to space my social icons in my widget sidebar closer together:

    <div class="socialicons">

<li>
<ul>item1</ul>
<ul>item2</ul>
<ul>item4</ul>
<ul>item5</ul>
</li>
</div>

    However, I’m not familiar with CSS at all! I’m still learning and I can’t figure out EXACTLY where to put this code, let alone what to put in the “sample code”. For example, is “item1” the link of my social icon? What do I put in “ul”? Also, I’m not sure in my CSS file where I would put this code; just at the end of everything or in a specified area? Thanks in advanced! ??
