Add Custom Field to Sidebar

  • I want some kind of PHP thing where it inserts whatever I have in a sepcial field in the admin area. Easy enough, but I need to know how to add that field to the admin area – you see, I want all my authors to be able to insert text into that field, from the admin area. I could do it by opening sidebar.php and editing it, but they couldn’t. Any ideas?

    EDIT: OK, I need something like the Custom Fields in posts (meta) but… not in posts. No what I mean?
