• Hello

I’m starting to use Event manager, and I’ve got a problem using the export to CSV function : all the letters with accents (such as é, è, à, very frequent letters in France) are corrupted in the .CSV
For example, the word “événement” (event in French) turns into “√?v√?nement”

Is there a way to change, or fix, the character encoding used by the plugin ?

Does anybody had the same problem ?

    Thank you

    Regards,

  • I tried your text and seems okay with my test site; can you check your site encoding?

I looked into this not long ago, and this is actually a problem with Excel and encoding. If you open up the csv file in a text editor, you can confirm this as chances are the text is correctly encoded there.

@agelonwl : My site encoding is ITF8, but
@marcus : you’re right, the text opens with accents in TextEdit. I’ll try to fix the issue with Excel, now that I know the plugin isn’t the cause.

Thanks to both of you for this quick answer.

I found a quick workaround for the Excel issue : Ditch Excel and import the CSV to Google Docs. I just tried and it works, without encoding corruption.
