• Hi all,

I am in the process of creating my wordpress blog and would like to add say 20 odd links to sites of interest on my homepage.

Please can anyone advice how this can be done without manually typing each link and its description in.

    thanks john

  • Not me (but I bet by the time you get an answer, you could have added the few links manually ??

got point but I would like to know how to do this for future sites. Can anyone help please?

    thanks John

Can’t you use the Link Manager in your admin panel?

If you have them in an OPML file you can import them.

If I create an opml file, can I then just drop a load of links into that file and then cut and paste into my site? If so, how do I create am opml file please?

    thanks marketer

I just used the link manager on the conrol panel for mine… the theme calls the links down the side. I would assume you could do the same. I had to put each one in by hand.. I did not import them, but that gave me a chance to add customer titles and such for each.

ahhh…. Not sure how to create an OPML file, but I think you misunderstood the suggestion.

The suggestion was to get it into an OPML file, them import them into WP. Put them into a particular category, then use one of the template tags for links to get it to display.
