Recent Posts widget is in reverse order

  • I can’t for the life of me figure out why the default “Recent Posts” widget shows my first post instead of my latest post first. I even installed a custom widget called Recent Posts Plus and it does the exact same thing.

    The blog page shows everything in the correct order, from newest on top down to the oldest at the bottom. Here’s a screenshot to maybe explain it further:

    What’s wrong? I am a WordPress novice so this is a bit perplexing to me. Maybe I’m missing something?
