    I haven’t seen this problem before. It sounds like the plugin was working as expected for awhile and then later started double posting. Do you recall adding any new plugins or something like that before it started double posting? If you provide the URL of your petition I can take a look to see if there is something strange going on with the JavaScript.

    I have the same problem – duplicate signatures (confirmed) from the same email address.
    Unconfirmed signatures get duplicated, I assumed they are people who didn’t get (or didn’t wait for) the confirmation email

    @tapirul,

    Are all signatures being duplicated or only a few of them here and there?

    If you can post a link to your petition and a list of the other plugins you have installed, that would give me a way to start looking into this.

    only some of them, for example numbers 137-138 and 133-134. each pair has the same email in the admin signature list. there are more of “unconfirmed” duplicates there, as well (is it possible to prevent them from being recorded? – I guess they still get a re-confirmation email when I send it, since their email is recorded as unconfirmed)

    I’ve been testing this and haven’t been able to duplicate the problem with signatures being double posted.

    The plugin blocks attempts to post multiple signatures to a petition that use the same email address. You can post the same name to a petition multiple times, but each signature would be required to have a unique email address.

    You can delete any duplicate signatures manually through the admin interface. That would be the best approach for now until I can figure out what would be causing the problem.

    thanks for the reply.
    is the plugin supposed to block (not to show) even unconfirmed signatures? sometimes I see a block of 3-4-5 unconfirmed signatures from the same email (plus the confirmed one in green, sometimes) in the admin view – usually one after another

    The plugin doesn’t accept multiple signatures from the same email address for a single petition, so duplicates should never even make it into the database or display on your admin screen.

    The signature list that is publicly viewable should not display any unconfirmed signatures.

    hello,
    any insights into this problem?
    the issue is repeating. unconfirmed and even confirmed signature duplicates (same email) are entered into the database

    I edited the JavaScript on the petition form pages to disable the button after the first click. I think what may have been happening is that when there is a slow internet connection, people may have been able to click the submit button multiple times while waiting for a response. Hopefully this will solve the problem. the update is in version 2.0.5.

    thanks a lot. yes, it sounds like the right scenario – the multiple entries always appeared one after another (sometimes 3-4 copies)
