Can't login to my localhost testing server- wants me to install wordpress again?
-
I’m trying to set up wordpress on my mac to locally test my themes. I set up MAMP, created my database, and downloaded and installed wordpress in the htdocs folder of MAMP. Everything was perfect— after installing wordpress, I could login to my dashboard and play around with the themes just as I wanted.
But after I closed everything out for the day and tried to resume the next day, when I tried to login to the localhost dashboard, it’s trying to make me install wordpress again. I’m not sure why it’s doing that since it was working perfectly yesterday. So I tried to download it again and of course it gave me this huge error message saying it’s already installed and that I should just login. So I try to login and nothing happens. It just stays on that same page, even when I clicked on the ‘forgot password’ link nothing happened.
So I tried everything I could think of to fix it: clearing all the cookies, reinstalling wordpress and basically doing everything over again, but nothing works. I’m completely lost, so if anyone can be of any help I’d be grateful!
