Migrate custom CMS to WordPress

  • I’m trying to migrate data from a custom CMS to WordPress. Data is in mysql. I tried to export an rss feed and it worked, but I apparently don’t have all the right fields. I’m trying to import the obvious fields:

    title
    date
    category
    author
    article
    image

    Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Let me be more specific. The content comes across okay, but I don’t know how to handle the authors and images.

    The authors don’t submit their own data so they won’t have accounts. Our admin posts the content after receiving it from the author.

    I can’t find how images are handled in the WP database.
