[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] How to change ngg temp folder to get upload working

Since I cannot set the value of upload_tmp_dir in the php.ini (the hosting company does not allow to set the value/override it) I would like to know if and how I can change the temp dir ngg uses when uploading files.
