Sidebar on ALL the page, can't I just have on a few. Twenty eleven theme

  • For the Twenty twelve template, is the sidebar and all or nothing thing. I only want it to appear on a few pages, not ALL the pages. It won’t appear at all if I don’t check set up the pages and having a default sidebar in the theme options.

    Is there anyway to just have it appear on a few pages?

    that is actually the default behaviour.
    the sidebar does not show on static pages, even with the ‘content left’ or ‘content right’ theme option selected.
    to have a sidebar on a page (static page) you need to choose the ‘Sidebar Template’ under the page attributes.

    Thanks alchymyth. So, in order to get my pages to show up with sidebars, I had to write some in functions and set the default page to “two column right sidebar”. If I put the default setting to single column, my sidebar wouldn’t show up not matter what I did. So, I set to two-column right-sidebar and I see my sidebar it’s also adding two-column right-sidebar to my home page, which on I only want to be a one column page. I’m using all pages by the way, not posts.

    Can’t I have some pages be one col and some be two and still have sidebar appear on the two column pages?
