Semiologic 3-column: R column not appearing

I just installed Semiologic CMS 3-column, but can’t get the tiles in the sidebars (left and right) to appear. Calendar was the only one that appeared automatically. I have many of the plug-in tiles (links, subscribe me, categories, pages) activated, but they’re not showing up. Sidebar-left.php and sidebar-right.php look like they have the calls in them already. What am I missing?
