    Hello

    I’m trying to setup a new install of WordPress 3.3.1 and I’m not having much luck. When trying to set basic settings, I keep getting a blank screen after clicking save changes. The address in my browser on the white screen is https://lterrydesigns.com/wp-admin/options.php

    The options.php is on my server in the wp-admin directory under www

    I have the file permissions set to 755. When I open the file on my server, it’s blank. I’ve also tried setting permissions at 777, but still get the white screen.

    Anyone have an idea as to what is causing this and what I can do to correct it?

    It seems I also can’t update the Akismet plugin. I got this error
    Fatal error: Class ‘Plugin_Upgrader’ not found in /home/lterryde/public_html/wp-admin/update.php on line 62

    This is what is on line 62 & 63 of my update.php

    $upgrader = new Plugin_Upgrader( new Plugin_Upgrader_Skin( compact(‘title’, ‘nonce’, ‘url’, ‘plugin’) ) );
    $upgrader->upgrade($plugin);

    I’ve had one issue after another trying install WordPress and now that it’s installed, I’m having issues setting it up.

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your response Richard, but I didn’t find my issues description in either links on that URL other than the plugin issue, which at the moment I’m not as concerned about as I am about all the errors I’m getting with trying to set up my site.

    Right now I don’t have a theme set nor do I have any plugins activated. Can anyone tell me why I’m getting errors on admin files such as options?

    I installed WordPress manually because I didn’t see Fantastico in my cPanel, even though it’s listed on hosts website. With all the issues I was having with the manual install, I returned to my hosts site to try to get information telling me where to link up with Fantastico, with no success in finding that information. Then I contacted my host inquiring about Fantastico. They told me they now use Softaculous instead. I ran Softaculous and installed WordPress without any complications and I’m no longer getting any errors. If your server offers either of these software services, USE IT. Save yourself the hassle.
