• I am creating my first website with WordPress and am using Pilcrow by Automatic for the multiple customizable sidebars.

My friend is also using this theme, and her version came with many more widgets than mine did, including the one I need most–Follow Blog.

    Any advice?

Also, is there any way to remove the “Send a Reply” element?

Thanks to anyone who can provide insight to this newbie…!

  • I’m not familiar with this theme but perhaps ask your friend to copy her Pilcrow theme and send it you. I think it could probably fit inside a zip file she could email to you. Then copy your old Pilcrow theme somewhere out of the way where you can find it later as backup. Then remove your Pilcrow theme from the wp-content/themes folder and upload your friend’s theme. If her theme doesn’t work, then remove it and put the backup of your Pilcrow theme back in place.

If you want to disable all comments, you might see if the theme contains a comments.php file and renaming it to something like comments_OLD.php so it isn’t recognized by WordPress. Don’t delete it because you might change your mind and want to turn on comments in the future.
