[Plugin: Promotion Slider] Showing image but not rotating

After extensive puzzling and searching we fixed our problem of not advancing slides and not working navigation arrows.

It appeared that the plugin conflicted with the WordPress Google Calendar plugin, after deactivating that one the Promotion Slider works correctly know.

Good to share that the plugin seems to conflict with the WordPress Google Calendar plugin if anyone encounters a similar problem.

(unfortunaletly quite a number of these support board topics end with a “Nevermind I fixed it, it was a manual error” or such statements leaving people with similar problems wondering how that particular person did the trick).

Yes. Plugin and theme conflicts aren’t at all uncommon. It is best to disable all other plugins and see if the problem still exists. If not, then you know it is a plugin conflict and can re-enable the plugins one at a time until you find the culprit. If it isn’t a plugin conflict, switch back to the TwentyEleven theme to see if that fixes the issue. If so… you guessed it: a theme conflict.

Once you pinpoint the culprit, it is a lot easier to address the issue. If it isn’t a plugin or theme conflict, always be sure to indicate that you performed these checks when posting a question.

On a sidenote, please disable the ‘Pause slider on hover’ option. It is buggy and causes some unexpected behavior in the slider. I am going to resolve this in the next release, but until then… probably best not to use it.

In addition, for performance, it is probably a good idea to limit the number of promotions to around 10. Most people aren’t going to stick around and wait for the 60th image…
