• Whoa – I need help!

Something happened while I was importing posts through the WP Importer … after successfully completing the operation, my Dashboard and ALL admin CMS panels are now displaying in one long list, without any styles, or structure that is typically seen as the WP Dashboard. Every panel in the sidebar is now exposed as a raw bulleted list.

What happened? How can I fix this???

    I took a Screenshot: https://sparkfactor.com/wp_brokendashboard.png

    – tried disabling all my plugins
    – also tried re-installing the Dashboard

the site itself looks totally fine, it’s just the Dashboard that looks broken

    Reinstall manually.

Delete the wp-admin folder, download a new copy of WP from this very site, and upload it.

    Thanks for the help, Ipstenu!

I was about to perform this replacement of “wp-admin” folder but when I logged into the Dashboard it had somehow fixed itself.

Should I be concerned about this? Is a manual re-install still necessary for safety? I’m not sure how this could have resolved itself.

I have the same issue. The screenshot posted matches my Dashboard problem exactly. I also tried disabling all plugins, and re-installing WordPress 3.3.1 from the dashboard. I also followed the advice from this thread and deleted the wp-admin folder, and uploaded a new copy. This has not resolved the problem.

    Any ideas?

^^ same here, replaced wp-admin folder, and re-installed through dash,.. still looks exactly like previously posted dashboard screen grab : (

I’m having the same problem. It started when I tried to delete a comment as spam. The deleted comment reappeared in a pink box on my dashboard, and then the dashboard reverted to the list described above. When I accessed the dashboard on a different browser, it was fine until I deleted another spam comment. The same thing happened.

I just reinstalled WordPress through my dashboard and it solved my problem.

Ah, nevermind. Either the reinstall or replacing the wp-admin folder did fix the issue. I noticed chrome had cached the page when I opened it in IE and FF and it was fine.

Unfortunately, my Dashboard is still displaying the same broken interface. I have done the re-install both through the Dashboard, and manually, by deleting the WP-ADMIN folder and replacing it with a fresh copy.

Any other solutions if these do not work?

I have cleared my cache and tried it in browsers that have not cached the site and it’s still showing broken : /

note: I have also removed all in-active plugins and disabled all currently active plug-ins, which seemed to have no effect either.

What is in the wp-includes folder? Is it suggested to manually re-install this as well, or is there specific information that should not be overwritten with the original files?

What is in the wp-includes folder?

Over 400 critical WordPress core files.

Is it suggested to manually re-install this as well

To manually delete and then re-upload this folder from a fresh download of WordPress? Yes.

I’ve been having the same issue since I upgraded to 3.3.1. Tried everything–reuploaded manually, reinstalled, cleared my cache, etc. I don’t think it fixed the issue. After a day or two, I found that my dashboards are fixed again, yes, dashboardS, because all of my wordpress blogs are having the same issue. However, sporadically, LIKE NOW, the broken dashboard is back again and I got totally lost already what’s wrong.

What I do, though, is WAIT. lol. When the dashboard is broken, I WAIT a couple of hours or a day because it gets fixed again. There’s nothing else I could do. But that sucks, because of course you can’t always JUST WAIT. WordPress people have to fix this! They already know that all the suggestions they give us (re-install, manually reinstall, upgrade, etc etc) do not work. Something’s really wrong with 3.3.1.

Please check your files. I’m having the same problem, and I’ve found that most of my theme’s php files have been edited to include a HUGE encrypted -something- at the very beginning of the file.

Update: Manually deleting and re-installing the WP-INCLUDES folder did the trick! I’m back online, all across the board.

    Thanks, guys!
